In 2014, Agri Port Services (APS) will provide agency services for nearly 1000 vessel calls in the U.S., the Great Lakes, St. Lawrence Seaway, Canada, and the Panama Canal. Cargoes—bulk grain and grain products, oilseeds, vegetable oils, ethanol, fertilizer, steel and steel products,
and coal.
APS is a Joint Venture between Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) and Norton Lilly International(NLI) who is the largest independent agency in North America.
The APS/NLI team is the #1 agency in the Mississippi River corridor. (Nearly double #2.)
Normal procedure is for APS to be nominated/appointed as agent of record for all ports. APS then appoints Norton Lilly International to act as our local subagent. This provides the customer experienced local service together with supervision from APS. (Norton Lilly has offices in nearly all ports.)
Customers communicate directly with the local port personnel as well as APS supervisors once the vessel is nominated using one email address. APS provides constant over site/management and problem solving throughout the port call.
Rates are competitive—having APS in the string merely adds additional management for the
customer and just as importantly, one focal point to address issues, regardless where the port call takes place.
